    So bad

    April 24th, 2008 by aloha

Just couple of days ago I was revealing how truly disappointed and frustrated I was by not having that laptop on the day itself that I was supposed to have it. There’s no sense of waiting anymore because I can’t have it back. :( I felt bad actually and I know I need to have a sort of relief…… Well to change the mood that I’m badly feeling, I was browsing by my friendster list and later led me to my cousin’s page. I was surprised that if I am right she had a daughter and I had another niece. Time flew so fast that I didn’t even know about this. It’s not a newly born baby but a kid about an age of 2 or 3 base on the pictures I saw and looks like they are a happy trio. My niece is cute, well all my nieces are and that make me a proud tita of theirs. :-) Hahaha…

Most of my cousins who are already married have first-born daughters from my first cousins to second cousins. And another 1st cousin of mine is expecting to have a baby soon from his wife to be and they don’t know at this point the gender of the baby but I have a strong feeling it will be a girl although my kuya would like to have a boy. Hmmm… Just for some crazy thoughts, personally I wanted my first born to be a boy, if and only if… hahaha :-) Oh no, talking about me now, huh? I should better go now and stop this before I go nuts and what not. :-) Hahaha…

    Creative Commons

    April 22nd, 2008 by aloha

The other week I was listening over a radio talk show (Rock ed at NU Rock 107) the discussion about creative commons and some other things, which concerns blogging and all that. I just felt the need to share this information to others who are starting to blog like me and I’m posting this to my other 3 blog sites (Beautiful Pages, Beach Avenue and Smorgasbord). So I listened and I got oriented about the necessary things about blogging, which for me at first was nothing but later I found it very informative. Primarily, creative commons doesn’t just apply to blogging alone but to anything that was created by a composer of any sort. It concerns me because I am new in this blog thing and yet I only knew few things on what’s proper and what’s not.

A blog is an open market of ideas, which there are no walls of rules and anybody from any part of this world, can have an access to whatever we put in. The good thing is we’re free to write whatever we want. And the bad thing also is that there are people who without any permission copies ideas, posts, poems, download pictures or videos claim it as their own, repost it and pretend to be the other person, that’s unacceptable to the one who originally made it. That’s so hard to control and that is a very common issue in blogging. Since it is so hard to control, this is where creative commons can be a helpful tool.

This is what I’ve heard upon listening to the conversation, creative commons is a free license that one can get online, not a law but a contract of a composer of any sort and the second party involved. A composer can grant or specify up to what limit or rights the second party can get. There are about 6 types of creative commons licenses that one can choose from depending on ones preference. It wasn’t clearly explained because they ran out of airtime but there were websites given so as to check what it is all about and hopefully I will have a follow up post regarding this matter right after I have check it by myself. The websites are creativecommons.org and philippinecommons.org locally.

Today I should have my laptop back but unfortunately it’s not done yet. We have it fixed the other day and I thought I could have it now. I feel disappointed and I guess I have to wait for few more days. :-( Hope it won’t take that long. Anyway I’m here in the Internet cafe again updating my blogs and all that. I really don’t feel comfortable doing this stuff here for sometimes people are peeking on your work. That is sometimes annoying but I have to live with it for the meantime. I feel I’m starting to enjoy this blog thing, I have few friends online and things right now are getting better for me. :-)

Charice will star on Oprah Show

    April 12th, 2008 by aloha

It’s been on the news that this young lady just impressed the foreign crowd. She has been in the The Ellen DeGeneres Show (USA), Star King (Korea) and Paul O’Grady shows (London). She was part of a kid’s talent show locally and her powerful voice puts her into fame, Charice Pempengco, that’s her name sings like a pro. I was watching the flick shown on TV, which she sang a Jennifer Hudson and a Whitney Houston song and that was spectacular. She was given a standing ovation, which is first to happen in that show and later the news revealed that she’s done taping for her TV guesting in Oprah Winfrey’s show and will be aired on May. I’m looking forward to watch that episode. She is talented and thumbs up to this girl. :-)

    Gloomy Thursday

    April 10th, 2008 by aloha

For the past days, it’s hot like an oven here in Manila and I have been feeling headache every now and then due to weather changes. I refrain from going out because I can’t endure the heat of the sun but that doesn’t mean I don’t like summer. Summer is really here but today is different, the weather mellows a bit. The day started with a sunny sun but right after past 12 the sky becomes gloomy but it didn’t rain. I was expecting to rain though. So the rest of the day for me is very productive. I did some cleaning in my little room and did some stitching on my clothes. My headache starts to dwindle down and I’m beginning to like my day today. I’m in a good mood to write and update my journals. :-)

Hmmm… I was thinking since I’m starting to blog and my relationship towards writing starts to sparkle, I have 4 blog sites that I am loving and happy about but that doesn’t makes me polygamous in any matter. :-) Hahaha… I have this beautiful pages which is about me and some other stuff, I blog for food which is my smorgasbord, I also blog for places I have been and share stories in between which is my beach avenue and this blog that you are reading right now is my coffee therapy which is about me and anything under the sun. :-)

There is something to the word coffee therapy that I am attracted to. I don’t know why but I just liked it. Coffee is coffee, sometimes it’s too bitter, sometimes too sweet and I can decide on what taste I want my coffee to be and same with blogging I can write whatever I want to. Writing a blog is therapeutic in such a way that it makes me feel better and relieves my stress away.

I guess that’s for today and happy reading. :-)

    Body Talk

    April 8th, 2008 by aloha

I happened to scan some old magazines and other stuff that has been long kept and I was reading an article that I got interested in. — The human body contains over 20 different chemical elements. It has:

    - enough fat to make 7 bars of soap
    - an amount of carbon enough to make 13 kilograms of coke
    - enough phosphorus to make over 2,000 matches
    - enough iron to make 2.5 centimeter nail
    - nearly 30 grams of other metals and
    - 4.5 liters of water.

    Who’s calling?

    April 4th, 2008 by aloha

Just as I’m about to leave the house and head my way to the Internet cafe, I had this weird call late afternoon. Maybe this person wants to play prank with me, hey April fools day is over. The phone rang, I didn’t bother to answer and the phone has been set for few rings then the answering machine does the job. It’s weird because a paid radio advertisement was left as the message and hangs up right after the whole advertisement was done, I mean that person can hang up at the beginning if that wasn’t intentional, right? What the hell was that? That person must have been really bored and got nothing to do with his/her life. One thing am sure of that call came from Manila because the ad said so. That annoyed me a bit. Whoever you are — GET A LIFE!

    Ninjas

    April 1st, 2008 by aloha

    tmnt1987series.jpg

It amazes to know that until now they are still showing that old cartoon series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on studio 23. So shallow that I find myself smiling and getting myself familiar with the characters again. I remember this so well, the ghost buster too and the rest because I grew up watching these shows. :-) Every Friday night is like a big night for me and my cousins (Hannah, Cherry and ate Amor) for we’d sometimes watch it together and to a kid like us that’s a grand treat from a 5 days straight schooling. It’s fun to look back on old stuff that was a big deal when one was a kid. :-)
